Call for Submissions

The MSF Journal is pleased to invite writers from around the world to contribute to its Fall 2026 Issue. We are accepting pieces based on the following topic:

When the New Sounds Wrong: Why the Music of the Future Is Often Rejected at First

Requirements

  • Deadline: August 31st, 2026

  • Word count: 1000-1500 words

  • Who may submit: musicians, scholars, students, composers, critics, historians, and independent writers

  • Submissions must be in English.

  • Previously published work is not permitted.

  • The essay must be engaging for both music lovers and scholars.

Three selected essays will be published individually in September, October, and November of 2026. Please note that contributions are uncompensated. Authors will receive full editorial credit, a dedicated contributor profile, and a post on social media.
